SOUTH CAROLINA ELEGANCE
Last week while perusing the summer issue of House Beautiful while laying on the beach, I came across a gorgeous home designer by the one and only Suzanne Kasler. I will admit, the first page of the spread didn't really grab my attention (the sunroom above). Don't get me wrong, it is beautiful, but the blue and white stripes paired with the wicker furniture doesn't really do it for me.
But one page turn and I was in love. From the blue & white ceramics, to the crisp palette, and use of busy fabrics - the home is stunning. Located in Palmetto Bluff South Carolina, (if you don't know about this place, look it up, it looks lovely) the home is a vacation home that is described by Suzanne as 'comfortable elegance'. The homeowners requested the patriotic palette paired with nautical touches
The home is a new build, but still very traditional so Suzanne worked her magic to fuse the traditional style with contemporary elements to create the perfect retreat for entertaining friends and family.
The blue and cream palette continues in the dining room.
The entryway may be my favourite space in the house. The classic black & white floor was requested by the homeowner.
Below is the famous Suzanne Kasler!
The staircase was built in Charleston in one piece and carefully brought to the home! I love love love the collection of blue & white on the table paired with a collection of antique frames on the wall beneath the stairs. The skirted table may be one of my favourite items! I'm sure many think these are completely outdated, but done right in a elegant fabric paired with a fun trim, these will look more contemporary and sleek!
Another view of the entryway. More blue & white paired with fantastic vintage items!
The 'kid's' room is really fun and colourful - perfect for the homeowner's grandkids.
The master bedroom is calming in all blue with great architectural details.
Finally the master bath is perfection. From the wallpaper, to the chandelier, to the vast array of marble used and the perfect vanity. Who wouldn't want to get ready here everyday?!
