If you haven't seen Nate Berkus and Jeremiah Brent's new show (Nate and Jeremiah by Design), consider this post a friendly PSA. You may have missed it because it's not your typical BS reno show that you find on HGTV, it actually airs on TLC Saturday nights at 9pm. I know, maybe not the best time for some, but set your PVR and it enjoy it later - you won't regret it!
I have loved Nate Berkus for years. He was Oprah's go-to designer on her show and of course there is the wonderful line he does for Target! Together with his husband Jeremiah, the two are hilarious and so fun. Their dynamic is just so great and I promise you will laugh! The show is also REALISTIC (something that isn't always the case for other home shows). They work with homeowners who are in over their heads and find themselves without a way out of their current renovation. Typically, the homeowners spend what they can, then Nate and Jeremiah call in tons of favours and work their connections. On last week's episode I believe the homeowners had $40,000 of their own, and Nate and Jeremiah called in over $100,000 worth of trade professionals and furniture making the total reno cost $145,000 for only one floor of their home! That people, is realistic of how you design a space with high end materials and amazing design elements. Forget travertine tiles and laminate floors - you won't see those on this show!Read More
If you follow me on Instagram then you know that I received the amazing book titled BEAUTIFUL by Mark D. Sikes the other day in the mail. All I can say is that this book is stunning! Mark's timeless style incorporates so many classic elements including his love for blue and white, natural fibers, and neutral pieces. Every space in this book is perfectly designed and decorated and has such an relaxed vibe and inviting feeling. This book makes me want to re-design my ENTIRE space. The forward in the book is even written by Nancy Meyers!
Take a look through some of the photos from Mark's book below and you will understand why I am so excited about his style and approach to interior design.
Happy Friday everyone!Read More
