BEAUTIFUL: The amazing book by Mark D. Sikes
A Hidden Gem: Hotel Liquidators
If you follow me on Instagram then you know that I received the amazing book titled BEAUTIFUL by Mark D. Sikes the other day in the mail. All I can say is that this book is stunning! Mark's timeless style incorporates so many classic elements including his love for blue and white, natural fibers, and neutral pieces. Every space in this book is perfectly designed and decorated and has such an relaxed vibe and inviting feeling. This book makes me want to re-design my ENTIRE space. The forward in the book is even written by Nancy Meyers!
Take a look through some of the photos from Mark's book below and you will understand why I am so excited about his style and approach to interior design.
Happy Friday everyone!
Design Inspiration: A Perfect Lakeside Retreat
Happy Monday everyone! Today's post is definitely not for everyone, but if you are open to the idea, local hotel liquidators could be a hidden gem filled with amazing items! I first learnt about this while watching HGTV (obviously) years ago and a designer shopped for furniture at a hotel liquidator in Toronto. The thing to note about hotel liquidators is that often the furniture is relatively cheap and well-made. I'm talking real wood pieces people!
Updating Your Home For Fall
Happy first day of fall everyone! I cannot believe summer is officially over, but that means cozy fall weather is getting closer. With this in mind, I came across this inspirational lakeside home in the October issue of Canadian House & Home Magazine and was immediately obsessed. Designed by Montreal designers, Benoit Gérard and Alexandre Blazys of Blazys Gérard, this Magog, Québec home is STUNNING! Imagine spending a weekend in this country home surrounded by all the fall colours outside?!
Choosing a Stair Runner
With fall literally RIGHT around the corner, there really is no better time than now give your home decor a slight refresh! Typically everyone is spending more and more time indoors this time of year so why not update a few decor items to give your space a new look.
The Amazing Work of Nancy Meyers
Hope everyone is having a good Monday!
I am working on a new project for a client's entryway and have been looking at different stair runners the last couple of weeks. I was inspired by the picture above that I took this past weekend at a friend's cottage. The traditional runner against the all wood cottage is so perfect in this lake-side retreat!
This got me thinking about other styles of runners and what may work best in different homes.
Happy Friday! Today's post is simple, but so great! It explores the amazing work of Nancy Meyers - the director/producer/writer behind some of my favourite movies like The Holiday, It's Complicated, and The Intern. She even worked on Father of the Bride in the early 90s, which is like my all time FAVOURITE movie, so you already know she is amazing.
