Sometimes certain designers just catch your eye with their talent and the amazing spaces they create, which is the case for for me with Allison Willson. I've been a long time admirer of Allison and her work as part of the team at Sarah Richardson Design in Toronto, but it was her own cottage that really caught my interest when I first noticed it four years ago in House & Home Magazine!

The space is a perfect cottage retreat, filled with antique pieces and tons of incredible details that you definitely don't see in your typical lakeside "cottage"! From wallpaper, to herringbone floors, you can without a doubt say this is a dream cottage.

I love the set of vintage suitcases in the entryway. A small bench, large tray, and stacked boxes are all the essentials you need in this space!

Two-tone kitchen cabinets, classic subway tiles, open shelving, bead board details, herringbone flooring, exposed ceiling, and two different countertop materials, need I say more? There is so much going on in this kitchen, but it works SO WELL all together. I think my favourite part may be the collection of white ceramic pieces.

I would probably not consider a chesterfield style sofa for my cottage, but after seeing this living room, I see why it works so well! While typically a formal piece, it still fits right in with the home and the room balances out quite nicely. I love the chandelier and the greenery in the space. If you are looking for a durable rug for your own cottage, consider a sisal option like the one Allison used below. Durable, very affordable, and available in an array of neutral colours.

A bold rug and large sectional create a great place to gather. I love the collection of glass bottles and large vintage mirror.

I can't say enough about this bedroom. From the wallpaper (something you don't see often in a cottage!), to the rope trim on the drapes, to the one of a kind headboard - so good!

The exterior of the home is just an extension of the incredible interior, just what you want when your home sits lakeside!

A few more shots! I see more wallpaper in the powder room (bottom right). I think Allison's cottage may be one of my favourite spaces, definitely what cottage dreams are made of!
