INA GARTEN'S EAST HAMPTON HOME
I have LOVED Ina Garten's cookbooks for years! I think I own five of the 'Barefoot Contessa' books and ALWAYS choose recipes from these books for dinner parties or special occasions. So far, I don't think any have failed me and I always receive compliments from guests! I also love watching Ina's show on Food Network, which is where I first noticed her amazing East Hampton home. Inspired by country buildings in Belgium, Ina and her husband built their home and 'barn' which houses Ina's test kitchen and office on the property after YEARS of begging the owner's of the adjacent property to sell so that they could build everything they wanted to, which included an expansive garden.
From the gardens, to the architectural details, to the classic east coast design elements, this property is stunning.
The garden, which contains a 'kitchen garden', a 'cutting garden', an orchard, and hydrangeas everywhere was designed by landscape designer Edwina von Gal - it serves as the perfect backdrop for outdoor parties and entertaining!
The details are everywhere!
I have always loved Ina's test kitchen is where she films her show. That island is 18 feet long!
I really like the black and white elements paired with the rustic exposed beams.
A cozy dining area to host friends.
More kitchen details.
I love built-in pantry shelving, but this looks amazing - everything in sight and space for all your stuff.
The simple, yet lovely entryway. Large mirror, bench, sconces, and a coatrack - all you need!
Ina's desk in the corner of a bedroom.
Light and refreshing bedroom with french doors opening to the garden - perfect.
Love the silver bathtub.
A little outdoor living room.
