MOLLY SIMS'S CALIFORNIA HOME TOUR
I've followed Molly Sims on Instagram for a while now and have always LOVED the navy blue subway tile in her kitchen, so I was really happy to see that Architectural Digest recently did a tour of her home and was able to see more of her space! (which did not disappoint at all - the house is amazing). Located in Pacific Palisades California, Molly and her husband Scott enlisted the help of interior designer Dan Scotti to help transform the space and oversee the final construction phase of their home (when they bought it, the home was only 80% complete).
The look is a "clean, modern aesthetic with pops of colour" with emphasis on the amazing views (see below). The couple wanted their house to be kid friendly (they have three), but still maintain a 'grownup' feel. Durable, kid friendly fabrics were used throughout and Scotti transformed what was suppose to be a library into a playroom, as it worked best for the family!
Take a look at the photos below!
A large abstract piece of art was used as the focal point in the dining room and it looks great!
A spacious bathroom! I love the painted crown and trim.
The vaulted ceilings in this room are incredible! I love that this portion of the room is painted dark, while the bottom half remains white.
Another view of the kitchen and the navy subway tiles that continue into the eating area. The 'indoor - outdoor' concept is what I dream about for my own future home.....................
A sleek family/TV room. Again, using large scale art as a main focal point!
The playroom, which is just off the kitchen was done in red! (which I usually hate but it looks great here). I LOVE the vintage photograph and those kid's chairs!
More art! Annnnnddddd I suddenly want a planter filled with succulents at the bottom of a staircase (which I also don't have)..........
Oh and a wine cellar right in the dining room! LOVE! I always envisioned wine cellars to be very dark and in basements, but I kind of love this one right in the dining room. Sleek and simple! Convenient too :)
