The Amazing Work of Nancy Meyers

I was happy to discover The Intern was an option for my in-flight movie while travelling last winter and I was immediately obsessed with the set design and decor. I discovered it was the work of Nancy Meyers and it was only then that I learnt she was responsible for my other favourite films! The spaces below are so different but all have the 'cozy', 'home-like' feel that make you want to move right in! Seriously, I could live in any of these homes!

Something's Gotta Give

The Hamptons beach house from Something's Gotta Give is so classic. The neutral colours and soft palette will never go out of style and truly create an inviting home!

The Holiday

This movie features two amazing, yet completely different homes. The English country cottage is SO cute and cozy! It really does look like the perfect setting for a winter holiday.

Look at that kitchen!

I absolutely LOVE the Los Angeles home that belongs to Cameron Diaz's character in the movie. The palette is mostly neutral but the home is layered with so much texture and interest that it feels anything but boring. I love love love the California style bedroom!

It's Complicated

Again, a relaxed California style is seen throughout this movie. Meryl Streep's character's home is primarily neutral with a lot of natural elements and hints of orange and brown. The home was also filled with a lot of antiques from 1st Dibs!

Who can forget the bakery owned by Meryl Streep's character! This makes me wish I had my own similar store. Nancy Meyers said the space was influenced by many bakeries worldwide, including NYC's Dean & DeLuca.

The Intern

The design from Meyers's most recent film, The Intern, is perfection! From the Brooklyn brownstone to the industrial style office that belong to Anne Hathaway's character, these spaces are definitely admired by many. The grey colour scheme that is seen throughout the brownstone creates a warm feeling, but it is definitely the architectural details that give the space a unique feel.

I don't know if anyone works in a similar office space, but if you do - I also need to work there! The bright, open concept space is incredible.
