Unique Nightstand Ideas

If you can't find a great antique piece, or you are looking for something slightly more unique, consider some of the options below! A nightstand doesn't have to be the typical piece that everyone else has. Whether you are looking to complete your master bedroom or looking to fill an extra room in your home, use the pictures below as inspiration. A lot of these options are great for guest rooms (often overlooked by many and filled with mis-matched, leftover furniture pieces) and small spaces like condos.

1. Use a Bar Cart

Do you have a piece of furniture that has seen its day in another room? Make it work as a nightstand! Think bar carts, trays on stands, and small accent tables.

2. Use a Chair

Find an old wooden chair and paint it a fun colour using chalk paint and wax for a unique, distressed look.

3. Vanity

Set up a vanity area next to your bed with a mirror behind it. Add a lamp and you have both a nightstand and place to get ready.

4. Use Suitcases

Stack suitcases to create a table. Great for guest rooms and boy's rooms! Bonus if you can find suitcases in fun colours or patterns, or vintage designer ones like the iconic Louis Vuitton suitcases below!

5. Use a Small Desk

This is really great for small spaces or guest rooms, and serves as a double purpose. Look for pieces that are not too tall and include small drawers for storage. Don't overlook a piece just because of its finish or colour. Use a high gloss furniture paint to give the piece an entirely new look.
